Create a free jabber account
Here is a procedure to create a free XMPP account on the jabber luxembourg public server : -a- a login : Sample "YourSurname.YourName" or your "Surname" or your pseudo, -b- an Internet domaine name : Enter "jabber.lu" or choose it into the list, -c- choose the option allowing you to "create an account" ( often you just have to select a box ), -d- a password: Choose a personal password composed of at least 8 mixed characters. After informations validation, you should be connected to the jabber luxembourg server. You just have to add contacts, invite friends, acces to public chatroom, create rooms, make voice or video calls, and hundreds others options, .... If the connexion do not works, verify the following stuff :
Verify that the "News" page does not indicate a jabber server maintenance.
force the account characteristics "hostname" to " im.jabber.lu " and force the TCP port to 5222 with encryption. ( In theory this is not mandatory since the DNS publication should indicate which is the jabber server to your IM software.
Use a method to bypass a firewall. ( Please take into consideration that this method is to use with economy. )
